FJager 0 Posted June 21, 2008 Report Share Posted June 21, 2008 (edited) Me and Stabs have just got in from a round of pest control on some of my permission. There are oats in at the moment and the farmer wanted us to have a crack at the hares and rabbits around the area. We went out around 1830 with one of Stabs' lurchers and my pig dog just to see if we could get a bit of a run. The first field saw three hares which we tried to lamp for the dogs but it's hard terrain and we got nothing. The fields are big and open and full of scrub with wire fences. We decided to grab the rifles and with the help of a .222, 410 and a .270 we got a few pests and the makings of a good feed into the bargain. The number of hares around here is crazy and we must have seen 35-40. The dogs were getting confused when hares were getting up as they ran what we had the beam on. All in all, a good night. Yeah it was a good night mate, when we could hit something. Got in and cleaned them all up then hooked into the rum, towards the end of the bottle we decided to PM you, that's why it doesn't make much sense, my mrs reckons we were pissing ourselves laughing when we were typing.
