dustyfox 0
I like to see pictures. Man has always took photo's of themself's hunting, even if its just wall paintings they used in the stone age. Man is a natural predator we got brains to hunt and farm stuff, whats wrong in taking a photo of your kill? I bet most of these anti's stay on computers all day and do not know the skill involved in hunting. They probably think its a shootem up game. So stuff the anti's. DF Quote Link to post

While I can agree with that antis are here to stay... years ago they would've died out as grazers are usually food for hunters. While the average anti doesn't know shit from a hazelnut casserole I don't see why we should gift rap their 'intelligence' and make it easy for them. In days of yore they had to actually leave the house to get footage of their alleged moral crimes. These days all they have to do is switch on a computer while a load of morons hand them as much slaughter footage as they could wank over. I'm all for pictures but anything that can be altered to make us look wrong needs to be policed. This is why I say respect the quarry. That way there is nothing other than trophy shots and they can go f**k themselves somewhere else. The threat is real. They're always going to be here but if we abide our own guidelines they'll be nothing more than a lentil munching annoyance. Quote Link to post
Symon 0
Well said Chris you speak a lot of sense, We should all respect general hunting code and ethics. If some pictures fail to represent these qualities then they should be seriously considered before being posted by their owners. Quote Link to post
jackieh 0
Hello All Anti hunting fraternity are a load of hypocrites in my book, I just wonder how many of them have domestic Cats as pets? these creatures are among the most predatory animals out there, They Kill for FUN ! the domestic CAT is a born killing machine, they have wicked retractable claws and a mouth full of flesh ripping teeth, when their owners put them out at night or just let them Rome around outside what do they think their little feline friend does for fun, I know what they do, they try to kill anything that moves. and that is a FACT. skycat 6,173
For years and years I never even thought of taking photos of the stuff my dogs had caught: just didn't even enter my mind, even though I did have a poxy instamatic (sp?). It's only since having a computer and a digital camera (last 2 years) that (I've started taking pics in the field. Yes, it's a good way to have a reminder of a particular day/night out and I really like seeing other peoples' pics of their dogs and game caught, but I agree 100% with what others have said on here about showing respect for the quarry; using discretion when posting is paramount. I like what Dustyfox said about stone age man doing wall paintings of their hunts. I must admit I never liked pics of big game safari hunters with their 'trophies' as I'm more of a 'hunt it to eat it' type of person, only killing inedible stuff when asked to as a pest control service. But Dustyfox's comment got me thinking and it IS a perfectly natural thing to want to preserve a memory of that great day when it all comes together and you and your dog succeeded in your chosen field. ChrisJones 7,975
Agreed. They are a bunch of hypocrites. Those that condemn hunting as cruel and inhumane, usually eat meat and wear leather. They don't have a f*****g clue how their food is prepared and I would much rather eat wild food, that's had a chance at a normal life, than chew that processed shit that is raised purely for the bolt gun... but that is f****d up society we live in. Here's another fact. The Food Safety Act outlines the requirements for food preparation, distribution, wholesale and retail establishments in the UK. Part of their "due diligence" defence is that they're required to have pest control provisions in place, by law. This means that everywhere you buy your food from. From preparation right down to the shop you buy it from have to take steps towards pest prevention. Even the organic farms, where these crops are grown, are protected from pests by methods that don't involve the use of pesticides (i.e shooting, trapping, ferreting, snaring, etc.) This means that everyone, in the UK, that buys food. From the meat eating carnivore to the holier than thou vegan pays blood money to a pest controller. FACT. Like it or not. You kill things to exist. Directly or indirectly you cement your position at the top of the food chain. The only difference is that you do it consciously or unconsciously. The only way you can avoid such is oversee the entire process, from ground to table, and there are very, very, very, few people, in the western world, that are capable of such a feat. When I meet one I will concede that they're not all hypocrites... But Dustyfox's comment got me thinking and it IS a perfectly natural thing to want to preserve a memory of that great day when it all comes together and you and your dog succeeded in your chosen field. We might have moved on in time but it's a fundamental part of what we are. Recording the hunt is just as valid as participating in it and is a perfectly natural process. We just have better gear to record it. Never be ashamed of what we do. Quote Link to post
