If you get a hob get him snipped and they can live together all year round and if you want to breed your jills you can borrow a hob

beg to differ, leaving a snipped hob in with the jills is not a good Idea, he will rag them silly, better to let him get them out of season, then move him to another cage,

a castrated hob can be left with jills all year round, but theres no gurantee he'll get them out of season

Yeah you're gonna have the same problem with a Vasectomized hob as you would a whole hob... they still got the same hormones... only way to cure that is get it castrated ( neutered ) then you wont have a problem come spring.. but you WILL have to find another method for your jills as He just wont do the job lol

Sorry mate but how big is this hutch it just sounds a lot of ferrets for a hutch,

also if you get him full de-knackered have you thought how you will bring the 4 jills out of season bearing in mind a jill can be in season anywhere from 1-4 times a year demanding on light / darkness and temp

I would personally have him vasectomised and have a separate hutch for him when needed

i leave my vasectomised with my jills all year ,infact he lives with 4 jills and 5 castrated hobs i dont find him ragging the girls infact the opposite there is hardly a scratch mark on them when they come in season .ive always done this ,its like hes more gentle because hes been with them all the time instead of suddenly meeting a jill in season and hes all go with eagerness
