Americas got Talent

Recommended Posts

Just sat with the wife listening to 'Americas Got Talent' on tele.

The judges are rejecting stuff that would have won the 'Britains Got Talent'

No embarising Oldies (you know the ones)

No embarising Kids

No uglies

Etc Ect

Why do they do almost everything better, bigger more proffesional etc etc.

I obviously exclude their role in running the planet, sorry George. But in everything else???

Is it just that there is more to choose from?

Is it the culture which supports better devellopment of talent?

Has it been screened first for the foreign audience to give the impression of more talent.

But is is not just this, why do they do better in the olympics than their 5:1 population advantage would suggest???

Suggestions please.

Or i'm leaving on the next boat west :censored:

Matt

i was thinking along the same lines the other day, how come when a hit british tv programme gets sent over there do they have make a us version (life on mars us aired yday) did the same with the office

supposedly there was an American version of Coupling. same title, character names etc but everyone was American.... sucked..... sucked hose water compared to the UK version.

when i first heard it advertised on a local station back in 2003, all i heard was "Coupling" but when i actually got around to watching it.... crap. even when i tried to pretend i was ignorant of the UK version..... it was still crap.

as for why where is so much "talent"?

i was talking to a girl from the UK who's daughter is in love with the sport of football (Soccer to us) but in her area the girls arent encouraged to play in the same manner that boys are, which is disappointing to her daughter.

i think there is plenty of talent everywhere in the world, but depending where you are, and how much money you have its either encouraged or its not. a few of my favourite actors are from Australia and Scotland, where supposedly they're still unknown.

over here most schools have a free music program, drama club, art classes etc..... my problem is we have TOO much talent it seems. everyone is hung up on being in the center of everyones attention so thats all they think about it. they dont want to do anything else useful. or they think they cant do anything else useful.

Valid points there..

Where everyone is talented, very talented people who are not 'THE MOST' talented, probably feel like thay have let themselves down.

So we are probably better off with no talent at all

:clapper:

Saying that BC, I've watched the US version of The Office and I preferred it to UK version. Some things translate, some things don't. Britain has it's fair share of shite and looking at some of the candidates for these reality TV shows, they should be renamed to something like Bradford Has Prostitutes or Skelmersdale Has Pond Life.
