borderman45 0
Just a note on owners who cause other peoples dogs to get a bad name, I have a border terrier a lurcher and a dobe who are all very steady with people and dogs albeit a bit excitable as they are only young, I also have 2 9 month old bullmastiffs who are exploring the big wide world. All my dogs live together happily. We took them to a springwatch fair last week where we knew there would be a few dogs and people to get them used to busy situations, all was great and the dogs all really did well until on the way out a couple I could see in the distance had a terrier off the lead, we changed route to give them some room approximately 100mtrs ! too late, their dog had seen ours and made a beeline for us, the owners just kept going only casually glancing over to us, as they were so far away I had to shout to ask them to call their dog which was now running around my dogs barking and growling, needless to say this was really winding the bullys up ! after about 10 minutes of this it had turned into a circus with the owners and by now some people wanting to help me all chasing the dog ! Luckily my dobe broke loose and calmed the dog down enough for someone to grab it. The dog owners walked away ( with a bit of a flea in their ear frm my wife ! ) without saying a word. I just know that if anything bad had happened it would have been our fault for having so dangerous dogs. Sorry about the moan, it peed me off a bit !
BlueCoyote 0
Border, hopefully with all the people around someone would have vouched for you. lol funny similar story, a friend was having a bad time with the flu, was outside on her own property - not fenced in front - with her German Shepherd bitch. some neighbours came walking by with two little yappy dogs off leash. same thing happened, the little dogs were circling her, her shepherd was snarling though. the owners of the other dogs were doing nothing. finally my friend said "Maybe they should just meet my dog!" and walked towards the little ones with hers. they all scattered, the people rounded up their pups and ran home. never had an incident since then. I guess the moral is never underestimate a bitch on a leash and a bitch with the flu lol
