lakeland originally called Patterdale terriers are great dogs also, and often tend to be narrow which is an advantage!! It is said that back in 1800 and something! Lord Lonsdale had one that went 23 feet under rock after an otter! 3 days later and alot of blasting with dynamite they got it out non the worse for wear!! These dogs are hard as nails and never give up.

i suspect you should do more research on this subject

I have a border that loves to go to ground just bloody hard work diggin her out :wallbash: she did have one on top the other week middle of the day!! caught up with her and she had done the fox. It was dead by the time i got to her! 10 - 15 mins! She has also dispatched other large ish quarry but I wont go into that now!! She is a great bitch, Loyal - loveable and great with children - people and other dogs but heck could she work! I dont work her properly but I could if I wanted she's already proved that. Its what she was bred for and I love her for it and am very proud.
