carrying knifes

Recommended Posts

can any one tell me the law on having a lock knife in the boot of your car ????? this is the situation monday i saw the smack rat that burgaled my house that the police did nothing about because he is a grass for them :censored: we had some verbal exchange that is it, i then took my missus to the bank and headed home as i pulled up out side the shop next thing i know is i,m surrounded by 7 police cars some of them armed officers :clapper:

i,m told that there has being a report made that i have chased this smack rat with a hammer :icon_eek: i dont think i need a hammer the size of me :tongue2: any way they search the boot and find my rubber mallet for knocking my tyres off when i change them, but thay also found a lock knife in the boot which is used when we go hunting and fishing it must have feel from the bag.

so i,m arrested for affray  and offensive weapon, now this bag rat will have no intensions of turning up at court so this i,m not worried about but f**k me the knife, even though it was folded away and in the boot they are still trying to do me for it as it is not a tool of the trade and i was in a public place even though it was in the boot.

on the tuesday my friend who the knife belongs too went into the police station and made a statement that the knife was his and must have feel from his fishing bag the same day and that he nor i was aware that it was in the boot.

surely i cannot be done for having a knife in the boot of my own car :feck:

lock knifes are a no go mate, if i am right in saying you can only carry a knife on you if you have good reason like if your carrying fishing gear, hunting or if you are say using it for your work. As soon as you take it outside these perimiters your fecked unless the knife is under a certain size which maybe 3 inches and not lockable, but i could be wrong someone will probably correct me soon

here you go, found it...

What is and isn't legal

the maximum penalty for carrying a knife is four years in prison and a fine of £5000 it is illegal for any shop to sell a knife of any kind (including cutlery and kitchen knives) to anyone under the age of 18

it is generally an offence to carry a knife in public without good reason or lawful authority (for example, a good reason is a chef on the way to work carrying their own knives)

the maximum penalty for an adult carrying a knife is four years in prison and a fine of £5000

knives where the blade folds into the handle, like a Swiss Army Knife, aren't illegal as long as the blade is shorter than three inches (7.62cms)

unless you have your gear or dogs in the car at the time or are not travelling to work your fecked hopefully with the owner of the knife going into a police station making a statement that it had fell out the fishing bag a few hours earlier and that i could not have known it was there and it was his goes in my favour, for feck sake it was in my boot not as though it was in my door.
