JackReid 35
Have only posted on here a few times so far but have done a little bit of picture taking on an spontaneous afternoon shot today. Will have to post few times to get most the pics in! Saw a few when I was walking around but have been on a pretty unlucky run recently not getting anything last night. So i walked around for awhile checked out the magpie trap for any captures which there wasnt, headed off to a spot and lay for about 40 mins with hayfever going crazy have been a little more impatient recently. So i head off and eventually came round a corner to find a very much alive crow with a broken wing (must have crashed in the wind!) So i took aim and nailed him in the head at about 15 yrds if that. Was happy to have got at least something as I wasnt feeling too optimisitc and the wind was picking up. Didnt a bit more walking round and finally saw what I thought at first was an albino rabbit ...was justthe way the light caught it, so i hit the deck on the mound (in one of the pictures) and shot him in the face, (was still a clean shot though). Decided to go check out one end of the fields which was on the opposite side of a hedgerow that i had spent about 40 mins waiting. i could see when i got closer and looked over a break in the hedge a few rabbits were out where i had been waiting. It was very very windy and have had a few miss shots from this are before and its quite a distance but i felt confident and made one of the best standing shots I have ever made, was roughly about 40 yrds and was shooting with about a foot on target to the side to accounht of the wind, fired and smack! straight through the back of the eyes! Couldnt believe it I got him and meant to do it! What its all about! Went round to get him and he was pretty big, enjoy some of the shots. Edited June 18, 2008 by JackReid Quote Link to post

We have been shooting loads at this permission, sometimes like 7-8 days in a row! Addicted for sure! I usually head up there with a mate or two who are on the forums too. I think I just gotthat spontaneous urge to head out again!? Hahah Jack Quote Link to post
