flyinbonnie 0
does any one on here own a bull x that lives in the house with the family etc, it seems that everyone uses them for out and out for work which is fine im just wondering if there is anyone who keeps them indoors and lets them socialise as well as do what they do best thanks Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Its no different to any other dog, if you want it to live in the house it will be great. Quote Link to post

flyinbonnie 0
ive been reading to much crap on here i think, about there un predictability towards other dogs and people etc, which has put me off keeping one with my family i have the chance of sum excellent well bred pups but im weighing up the obvious things, thanks Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
I'd filter 99% of what you read. Bulls and the crosses are no more aggressive to people than your average mongrel and some dogs are aggressive with other dogs regardless of breed. Socialise it and train it and I doubt you will have problems.......One question I would ask myself would be "Is it the right breed for me"? Quote Link to post
Get_On 3
i think a lurcher shud b kept outside there nt house dogs as there nt pets i think Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
i think a lurcher shud b kept outside there nt house dogs as there nt pets i think I don't agree with your train of thought or logic. Just because a dog lives inside doesn't mean they can't be a successful working dog. Also a good working dog can also be a pet, I don't see that there has to be a divide??? Quote Link to post
slip 1
totaly agree GET ON always keep dog outside!! but the simple fact is that bull crosses name has been dragged through the mud by foke on hear who never owend one!! perfect pet an better worker on my experience Quote Link to post

flyinbonnie 0
thanks for the replys, i dont agree with the fact people think that lurchers should be kept outside only either! they make great pets i no of many people who love there lurchers for there nature just as much for there ability in the field including me, the problem iam having is the fact most of what i have read on here about bull x s is they seem to be purely used as tools in the field which again as i mentioned previously i dont have a problem with just want to no can they do the job of being a nice household animal to. its nice to see they are as the pic above proves Quote Link to post
stormrider8 59
My bull cross lives indoors also. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old child. And i couldnt ask any more from her shes brilliant with them both. Anyone who has any with any experiance with any of the bull breeds will also tell you the same. If brought up the right way as, any other dog there no problem at all. Its a shame that there are so many people out there, that are all too quick to bad mouth them without any first hand experiance. LDR 29
I dont think you can categorically say that one breed is suitable to live in with the family and another isn't!!! Collies are meant to have high numbers that have turned and start rounding children up in the house, i personally think most bad press comes from people who own working type breeds and dont work them, is where the problems start........imagine you were bred to do a certain job and all your instincts drove you towards performing a particular task, but you were always surpressed and never allowed to do it, sooner or later you're gonna say f**k it and do it anyway!!!! millie 1
Mines not a house dog but it spends most of its time in the house. its soft as shite. Quote Link to post
timmmy 0
One question I would ask myself would be "Is it the right breed for me"? Spot on, too many people running around the wrong dog which they cannot control and deal with, kenneling these dogs is one thing but when you take them into a family area you asking for trouble. ( not just bullys but all types) Everyone knows what job bull xs are bred for, so why would you want one in a family scenario, where you going to be taking a smashed up dog? Like someone else has already said, alot of working dog having there urges suppressed are bound to think f**k it etc. So you will be either not be working the dog to the full or will have a smashed up dog inside the house, both which will have negitive effect if you ask me.
