Just after a bit of advice

i have got a first x Bedlington x Jack russell bitch who is 10 months old just wondering if i can hand strip it, and if so will it help improve its coat.

I have been told to clip it first then next time it needs it start stripping it.

Cheers all any advice appreciated.
