Malt 379
i alwys get the compleate oppiste , and people want to stop and watch, , i have probly been lucky so far Same here, in fact it's only happened to me the once. Family in all the gear, hiking sticks, socks up to the knees, bobble hats, etc, stopped and asked if they could watch as long as they didn't get in the way. So we said, sure why not? They stood there fascinated, watching us net the holes and put the ferrets in. We didn't have any out of that particular burry, and when we finished I took the big, friendly hob over so they could have a look at him. The kids were amazed at how tame he was. I think they'd heard all the usual ferret horror stories about people having there fingers bitten off, etc! I thought to myself, It's a shame that more people aren't like that, being open minded, instead of being against everything they don't understand.

Matt 160
Its just a thought, but most modern mobile phones are capable of sound recording aren't they? Why not record the abuse and then report them. The recording will not be able to be used in court, but it will demonstrate to a senior police officer that you have been the subject of 'threatening behaviour'. I would complain about the officers concerned as well. There are laws in this country which prevent the unlawful interference with legal activities....
smudgersmith 2
Gents, I appreciate all your comments, at the end of the day all I want to do is be left alone with my terriers and ferts and just do what I enjoy, I don't go around mugging, stealing and being a 100% complete **** like alot of arseholes around here. In my job I encounter aggressive scum every fecking day, I don't need it from the boys in blue on a fecking Sunday. It's these fecking knobs that got my goat more than the ramblers. LDR 29
Some of jultaylors permission is on very public land, but for the council and we've had probs with it several times...... the police knocking on my door on xmas eve was a classic!!! we even managed to get pics of one woman on the phone reporting us!!!!! i'll see if she's got it, f*****g classic!!!! bottom line is, if you aint breaking the law they cant touch you...... Another time we had the filth sticking their noses in was whilst out with woodga and chartpolski, this traffic cop pulls up asking the usual shit, then goes on to do full checks on all of us........ the highlight though had to be when woodga saw he'd written down "poaching offence" as his reason to stop us!!!!! he nearly dived through the window saying i aint poaching what you writeing that for? i've got permission to be here, its not poaching!!!!! talk about pissed off!!!! best part was the copper locking himself in the car whilst he checked us over the radio!!! although my arse was twitching like mad as i thought i might've had an outstanding warrant and was contemplating doing off!!!! probably would've done if i'd known where i was!!!! imagine that, getting locked up 2 days before your mrs is going in for a cezarian!!!!! jultaylor1972 2
I will just keep clear of the usual ramblers paths. it maybe better me thinks. No, mate. You get right on with doing what ye legally there for. As, when and where ye see fit. Some toss pots in bobble hats turn up? Keep right on doing what ye doing. They're bound to lose it. Then You phone in and report Them for verbal abuse. Police either come out and deal with it, for you, or they don't come out for any c***. Can't have two sets of rules, can they? And don't forget; One of those 'walking stick' things they gave these days could appear quite threatening to ye, being held by some idiot who's going red in the face as he screams that you're a " murder ". Be sure to mention that concern to the Police too. Threatening Behaviour beats Verbal Play them at their own f*cking game! I totally agree there Ditch! Ive had people scream at me on some of my permission and it drives them round the bend if you stay polite and just smile.

LDR, can you remember that woman who came down the field we were ferreting screaming at us??!! On that ocassion we didnt have permission to be there but it was a genuine mistake on my behalf - I had just crossed the border of my permission by about 1 metre!, a couple of phone calls later though and I had written permission to be there, the land owner was furious that we had been told to get off the land and told us to go there anytime we wanted to do rabbit control, he even asked for a description of the woman so he could go and give her a piece of his mind! Since that incident I have been very careful NOT to go onto land that isnt mine, LDR has educated me on map reading and has outlined my permission maps with a highlighter pen
jultaylor1972 2
Almost forgot!! LDR and me were lucky enough to get an invite on to whin's land for a day/ nights sport which ended in us being pulled by the Police, they took our details etc and had a bit of a chat with us while one of the lurchers sat in their patrol car!! This was the lurcher 10 minutes or so before!
