rules and regs on FAC's

If i was to apply for an FAC to get my air rifle uprated would it have to be kept in a cabinet and if so could i keep it in my cabinet with my shotgun? Also are they more leanient on giving FAC's to shotgun certificate holders because of previous experience with firearms?

I am fed up of people saying its easier to get a section 2 (shotgun) authorisation then section 1 authorisation!!....ITS FALSE.......if are turned down for a section 1 you will also be turned down for a section 2 as well, as you would have demostate that you are not danger to peace etc, a banned person from owning firearms, a mental or unfit to hold guns. The biggest difference with sc1 is you have to justify every firearm you want to use or buy, unlike shotguns.

as long you can give a good reason and you pass the background check you will get a section 1! so if you already have a shotgun ticket, all you would need to do is provide the good reason as you would have already passed the background check otherwise you wouldnt have your shotgun ticket!

it is more easy in a way fella to get a shotgun ticket to a fac ticket. as you dont have to have the land to own a shotgun you could shoot clay pigeons or if you get permission on land it doesnt have to be checked.

where fac you have to have the land and it has to be ok for the cal rifle you would like to be granted. so in a way it is more easy to get shotgun section 2 then fac section 1.

your right in saying if they turn you down for shotgun for whatever reason then you most likey qouls stand now chance getting fac.

keeping a fac air rifle will be fine in your shotgun cabinet mate. as long as you have land i see no reason why you wont get fac ticket. and having the shotgun does help i think.

if your trusted to have that then why not a fac rifle

You can be as fed up as you like, you are looking at this from one, very narrow, perspective, and you are wrong.....getting a SGC is a whole load easier than getting a FAC, you do not need to be a member of any club, you do not need any land and you do not need a reason, that little lot adds up to it being a whole load easier!!
