LDR 29
Since i got my mates lab, him and the springer have shredded more beds than i can count!!! i've put in allsorts for them from pillows to duvets, to fabric beds and even the toughies!!! they've destroyed all of them and i now spend my days picking up fluff from all over the yard!!! I'm toying with the idea of stable mat rubber or straw, i guess with straw i'm still gonna be picking it up everyday, so does anyone have any experience of rubber used for stables??? Guest ripstop
Ive had all that bother mate, what i have done is put a higher board up just before the sleeping area, then put pine chippings in for the bedding, i get the odd bit lying about but just sweep it up when its dry, the chippings i use are large and antiseptic, the type used for horses. rra88it 0
can you not put something on or in there bedding to stop them shredding it? something that dogs dont like the taste of but wouldnt do any harm to there skin or eyes? when my whippet was small it had a habit of chewing the chair legs, table legs and scratching the carpet up i used to sprinkle pepper on them to stop it, they soon learn not to bother it again. its just a case of trying to find something suitable. LDR 29
it starts because of fluffing it up and humping it, then they hump each other then they just shred it, must be their equivalent to have a smoke after sex..........

littlefish 585
You could try using old towels/sweaters/curtains etc - they would do for the dogs to lie on and might not be as exciting for them to rip up as stuff with fluffy filling in such as dog beds and duvets etc. When they are minging you can just throw them out and get more from friends or charity shops? I used to buy quilted dog beds but one of my pups used to chew them up then piss on them - very frustrating. Now they get old stuff to lie on but i make sure buttons, zips etc have been removed.
