i am going to apply for my FAC next week

 

. i will be using it for vermin controle ... ie, close range fox,rabbits any range

do you have any advice to ive me a better chance of getting my FAC...

HI i am a vermin controle officer and i am still whating for my fac wich i was told by feo it will only be a week but that was four week ago .

i was told do not but down you shoot foxs the police where i live do not like it at all i live in cheshier i hope this helps :gunsmilie:

If you want a fox rifle then you will need to specify as such on your application form.

 

Cheshire Police are talking b*****ks if that is true what you said.

 

If you wanted a rimfire for fox then that is different as normally only very experienced FAC holders will get it.

 

It doesn't matter whether they like it or not, if you have the reason then they cannot refuse.

But anyway, that advice is utter crap, you cannot use fox control as good reason for a rimfire, but you CAN put it down, if you wish to.

HI ss no cheshier polices will not give FAC for just shooting fox it is a no no with them all my mates told me when i filled the fac forms do not but down fox i am whating for my FAC to come i hope to have .22 sako and 17 hmr

I realise that you wont get Fox for a rimfire on a first grant.

 

But if you want to shoot fox then you must specify it if you apply for a centrefire.

 

I can see from your last post that you are applying for rimfire and so the Police are unlikely to let you have fox for it.

Please, stop talking rubbish... Rimfire possibly but you ask them for a 223 for fox. They'll grant that...

I am not talking rubbish ok i have been shooting 40y my dad was a game keeper all his life i do not no where you live but you go for a FAC in cheshier FOR FOX shooting and you will not get a FAC that is not rubbish i will tell you 99% of the land in cheshier is shooting and is FAC approved i do not what to make a big thing out of this but my mates have had FAC for over 40years and i think thay no more than me and you IF there is one member out there from cheshier got a FAC for just foxs shooting let us no

The police just haven't got the power to refuse you an FAC for the use of fox control,so,although your mates may have been refused their FAC's the police have over stepped the mark,and,if you contact the BASC(assuming you are a member)they will tell you as much,and,they will contact the police for you to clear it up.............Martin.
