stone-cold 0
immigrants have nothing to offer this country but a contribution to crime, were overpopulated as it is without more of them. theres less jobs and less housing for native brits because of this. the government are cutting acres and acres of our countryside to accomodate these immigrants, this governments a total farce and there letting down those of us that actually belong here. Coney 3
I'm a ashamed to admit that I know very little about immigrants. But it seems to me, some of these foreigners are keener to work than our own people. Why is it acceptable, in our country, to sit on your arse and do absolutely nothing to help yourself or anyone else? I have seen them on TV - when I relent and switch the thing on - "I ain't doing that". They wouldn't dream of doing something that wasn't glamourous enough. Sit on your backside and wait for fame seems to be the order of the day. A bin man, a supermarket worker, a road sweeper, a cleaner, they are all doing their bit to support themselves and their families and deserve respect. It is those twats, in their baseball caps and tracksuits, lounging on the stage of Jeremy Kyle and the like, talking like some ghetto gangster, about what they will and won't accept as work!!!!! Utterley amazing! They have no shame. It is embarressing to think, as a nation, we have become so lazy, and smug, with handouts and yob culture, we have to employ outsiders to do the jobs our own people turn down. Where has self respect gone??? The satisfaction in doing a hard days work??? Having said that, I agree wholeheartedly with Mattywhatsit, about if you go to work in another country you shoud respect their laws and culture and try to fit in with them. Not as we seem to have in this country, whereby, it is acceptable to slaughter a goat in the street in Birmingham....but not for your child to take part in a nativity play??? Very odd. My feelings over the war in the east are mixed. I HATE that we seem to have become puppets for the U.S. We would not be out there if it wasn't for their interest in the oil fields, and I do not accept that this is a war intended to free people from a tyranny state. If so, why the hell haven't we sorted out Zimbabwee years ago???? I prefer a United Kingdom that goes to war for honest and brave reasons. I also have to agree with Speedlamper from the other topic - that there are many questions that do not have answers regarding the 9/11 bombings. That is the only thing he has said so far that I could agree with, because, whilst I may not be sure what we ARE doing in Iraq and Afghanistan, I wish the safe return of all of our lads and lasses out there, wish them the very best of luck and hope they come home safely. And regards paying taxes etc......we all do that. My topic was intended to ask people to think about the many many servicemen who need rehabilitation and support on their return home due to injury. I know they never had it in the other wars, (the 1st and 2nd), and they had to just "get on with it" and I have no end of respect for those that did. But if we can help make life just a little more bearable then what is the harm, and how on earth can you begrudge them that? It has bloody amazed me some of the shite that has been spouted on that thread. "It's not my problem..." "I pay taxes..." "They signed up for it..." If they don't want to give, why say such cruel and ungrateful things? Why not just leave alone? The price of a pint in sponsorship - not £5, or £10 even - the price of a f*****g pint.... some of them are so damn cock sure of their own self worth and their right to a place on this earth-our country-which is and has been, so bravely fought for, that they wouldn't buy a kid - cos the majority are little more - with his legs shot away........ONE f*****g BLOODY PINT!!!!!!!! dear lord...............................................................what a thing to admit to. Some stern but true stuff there "foxyjo" well said..........
Simoman 110
When it boils down to it, regardless of race, colour or creed, a good person is a good person Couldn't agree more. As Wilf wrote, we would be better off having the values from 60 years ago This country and its people are getting screwed daily.....and its by the people running it. Just look at the increasing prices we pay, fuel, electricity, heating, food, the list is endless.. I had the chance to take my family to Australia 18 months ago and to be quite frank I bottled it because I would miss the good things about this isolated Island. I love the countryside, our wildlife, our culture and history but I feel perhaps I made a bad choice and my children, wife and myself would be happier living in a country that seems to have the right "attitude" that we perhaps lost decades ago............... Guest WILF
The old phrase "Don't judge a book by it's cover" is something I learned many years ago.. Cheers, D. Sorry Dytkos, but I pretty much allways judge a book by the cover (safer that way) and then pray that person proves me wrong........sometimes they do.

Groverdog 0
Ooooh chance to let off steam before heading off to beddy byes. Hate being made to feel like a leper for being a smoker and 4 x 4 driver. Yeah yeh i know all the risks and the climte damage but needs must and i enjoy smoking. Hate the fact i cant afford to order heating oil and fill up the motor especially after seeing the program on last week about North sea oils got at least another 30years production. Hate seeing pensioners have to choose between eating or keeping warm then hearing young lassies bragging that they have had a baby so they can get a flat/house with heaps of benefits thrown at them and being able to buy a flat screen telly!! And hate going into town doing the yokel thing of smiling and saying 'morning' to someone who then looks like your gonna mug him/her cos youve dared make eye contact! And And And Ah feck it wont sleep now all wound up!
