turtowil 0
Hi there, I've recently pruchased a brand New 12 bore, multi-choke Franchi Harrier Game gun, and was just wondering if anyone would know what this will be choked at? I.e. are they choked at a standard set? Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
If it is multi choked, there will be marking on each chokes tube. If you post these I will decipher them for you. Normally a 5 choke set will be Cylinder, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and Full. Regards SS Quote Link to post
Geoff.C 0
Hi turtowil, you could have clarified this at the shop before taking the gun home. There are several different ways the makers identify their chokes. A trawl through the gun section may fill in the blanks if I don't. Probably the most common is the notches machined in the outer end of each choke, yours may be like this. No notch = Skeet or Cylinder (somewhere between zero and .005", so a small restriction or same size as the barrel tube). 4 notches = 1/4 choke (.010" restriction). 3 notches = 1/2 choke (.020" restriction) 2 notches = 3/4 choke (.030" restriction) 1 notch = Full choke (.040" restriction) These will be about the sizes even if yours is not marked like this. Hope this helps, and post again if yours has different marks. Someone will know the answer. Quote Link to post
