diggermad 154 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 hi may have a problem my kits are 4 weeks old today cleaned the bedding out checking them over and think i may of found a tick on one of my kits really low on its belly if it is would it be ok if i used a tick puller on it would that be a problem would it hurt the kit at that age cheers Quote Link to post

stubby 175 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 I had a tick on a 6 week old fert, right between the toes, was a bit fiddly and the kitt was not having any of it, but those green tick pullers from pets at home are the mutts nutts, removed it and everything now fine, find it too hard to inspect whole of court for ticks, much easier to just keep and eye on the ferrets Quote Link to post

stubby 175 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 stubbs how many ferrets have you got now with all your new arrivals and everything... a litter of 5, and two of 12, all a few weeks between them, do a daily check of all of them, seems they pick up ticks between the toes more than anywhere, got it down to a T now, ferret malt paste on the worktop and de tick them in secons, the oldest litter are 8 weeks old and so far, only had about 6 ticks in total on them all Quote Link to post
