dogga 1 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 managed to get out for a couple of days again this week started off on the monday at around lunch time .had a walk around the lake to find the fish again were in the same place as thay were last time i went just basking in the shallows .so after an hour or so sat up a tree watching them take the very ver occassional bit of bread i decided to move into slightly deeper water where i thought they would move to as the sun dropped later in the evening.same tactics as before i spodded out a few kilos of hemp and trout pellets and prepared to fish over the top with pop up boiilies thinking that the fish would not move til later i decided on an few hours stalking so took my rod to the shallows and put a bit of flake on the hook.after waiting best part of an hour this lovely little common slowly moved towards the bait engulfing it a then belting off tearing line from the spool straight towards the roots of a tree !didint take too long to get in however and luckily a bloke took pictures for me no more action that afternoon so got rods cast out for the night and i was expecting to not be getting much sleep as there were a lot of fish moving slowly up my way!!! well i was eventually woken up by a screamer at 2:35 am only to bring a very small tench in of about 1.5 lb so got cast out agian and no sooner had i put the swinger on when same rod flew off aagin this time a decent fight ensued but again a tench this timeof about 4 lb so out went the rod again with a fresh bait and back i went to the bivvy.the time it tokk me to make a cup of tea and the middle rod slowly dropped back and after avery dour slow fight a 18 lb 6 oz mirror graced the net.after what seemed like ages the right hand rod tight to the tree line screamed off to bring me a small carp(11 lb or so) .(no one around to take pics)then 20 minutes late the same rod again screamed off but this time the fight was a little different with what was obviously a bigger fish taking line at ease .after half an hour or so i eventually slipped the net under a lovely 26lb 5oz mirror in good condition apart from on pelvic fin totally missing? again no one to take pictures rod out again and back to bed....again.as it was about 7 ish i thought that would be all the action as the sun was getting warm but the lake had another surprise yet .....at around 7 :30 ish i was woken up to line peeling off the reel at a fast rate of knots as i struck into another decent fish this put up a very good account of itself eventually pulling the scales round to 21lb 4oz and by far the best looking fish i had caught this season .the lake owner was i=on hand to take pictures .i think he must have had the shakes as they turned out a little blurred all in all a very enjoyable session after again i was told no one had been catching and it was fishing hard ....i cant wait til its fishing well Quote Link to post

dogga 1 Posted June 12, 2008 Author Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 holds roughy 150 up to 27 lb with most around mid double sort of area.did have a camera but no one else was fishing or around at that time to take pictures unfortunately. its quiet during the week which si the main reason i try and avoid weekends Quote Link to post
Guest Name Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 When ever i fish alone i sett out markers, put one for the camera and one for your self, that way you can net the fish, place the camera on the marker, and get your self into position, most if not all cameras have a timer, sounds a bit of a fart on but its not really, and you still get your pictures at the end of the day Quote Link to post

Guest Name Posted June 13, 2008 Report Share Posted June 13, 2008 You can get a universal one, its a tube with a fixing at one end to connect to the camera, and a ball kind of thing at the other end, when you squeeze the ball it pushes air through the tube and a pin comes out the camera end and pushes the trigger/button to take your picture, you can place the ball part on the floor next to your unhooking mat then just kneel on it when your in position, job done Think they are cheep too, but they do the job if you cant get a specific one for your camera model Quote Link to post
