Most modern art today is well crap. But to put a dog in an art gallery and starve it to death while everybody watches it die. If he wants to show agony why dont he paint a picture.

The so called artist is twisted.

Guest foxyjo.

I signed the petition too and emailed it to all my friends.

However, this same thing popped up on another site last week, and they were all saying it was a hoax. That someone had done it to see what the reaction would be :icon_eek: There was no exhibition, and they had to admit it was a hoax because the "artist" was getting death threats. Now, I would still sign the petition, because that dog is dying....why would anyone want to hoax that? And someone on here said the dog ran off - in the original I read, the dog actually died. I don't know what's true and what isn't, but whichever way, there is some very very sick mentality behind this. When I read it was untrue and they'd had to admit that, it made me wonder whether with the publicity it has got via the internet and how strongly people feel about it, they HAD to say it was a hoax to cool things down....b*****ds they are, whichever way.

just been reading this and signed the petition anyway. When i saw the pictures which look real,i couldn't help but feel for the poor dog and thought this 'artist' was a c**t!What has happenned in this case, what is the truth and are there any updates on what happened to the 'artist'?I know the last post mentioned a cover up in the form of a hoax, but what is the true current sitiuation, anyone know?if the RSPCA came to your house and your dog was underweight(comapred to a deiliberately starved dog)they would try to have you for neglect, this c**t should get murder charges, sick b*****d!I hope there have been death threats against this man and he is on the run for his own safety,i don't want him to get caught as surely living in your own fear is bad enough, and the dog, well all i can really hope is that the dog can come back and haunt this 'artistically gifted fellow',like i said i've signed the petition and part of my comments were to the effect of what was wrong with doing a painting,a bit of paint cost nowt, but then these'modern' artists only 'try' to be 'different' and provoke outrageous reaction, they can never ever be compared to a michelango, piccasso, monet or any other pre21st century genius who worked with marble or paint!

read about this a while ago on another thread .Whap pisses me off is that animal welfare groups cause outrage when they see terriers a bit smashed up and look at that poor dog there.I wouldn imagine they are in any hurry to help that poor dog out

i agree with scent, where is the world equivalent of the RSPCA in this case, who is the animal welfare group that should've been monitoring this case?THEY ARE JUST AS BAD AS THE ARTIST because they have FAILED to monitor a distressing

case of animal abuse, but as usual 'they never heard about this case' if so why have 1.5 million general public heard about it and signed the petition yet they haven't done a thing or brought about a prosecution against the 'Artist'?

As i suspected, the animal welfare organisations who are ACTUALLY MONITORING this hunting sites have chosen to ignore the plight of the 'art dog',instead they will try to find fault with hunting people and the slightest sign of neglect or

catching an animal in the natural world of hunting they will latch on to,yet they have seen on this same site a deliberately starved dog in the 'art world' and have chosen to do nothing about it!Need anyone say more how these'welfare organisations' work?

Higgins.

Read this article and this one as well.

While it could be real, or a hoax, this happened in August 2007. If he really did starve a dog to death, for art, then it's dead and no petition, e-petition, or otherwise is going to make any difference.

I reckon it was a publicity stunt, especially as he signed the petition himself.

thanks for the articles Chris, what i can't understand is this was supposed to be a work of 'art' also to highlight peoples hypocrisy, well the artist's own hypocrisy has made him unpopular!Just remember his name Guillermo Habacuc Vargas.

There doesn't seem to be any consistent account of what really happened to that dog though, some reports say it starved to death during the exhibition and others report that the dog escaped!
