Sigmund Fraud 0
I've seen quite a bit on various websites about Prometheus lead-free pellets. But not so much on this site; I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts on them were. Their website claims they fly further and flatter than most other pellets and provide some photographic evidence of their aerodynamic qualities. I couldn't however find a proper independent review. Anyone know much about these? Official Website Expert Opinions - Opinions from several writers from Airgun World and Airgunner magazines. Prometheus Pellets - Their standard ones, for spring air rifles with < 14ft/lbs Dynamic Pellets -Supposed to be self lubricating wonder pellets. I'm slightly sceptical, can anyone shed any light on how these perform? I've seen them sold on eBay for quite a bit more than standard pellets. (400 for £16) If nobody knows anything decisive about them I might buy a box of their dynamic ones and give them a shot once I can group AA Field's quite well. I'll compare my normal average with those and post the results. EDIT: Was looking at pellets on Uttings.com and saw they sold them £11.49 for 400/500, depending on the rifle it's for. SEAN3513 7
well said lads. there have been a few reports of them jamming in barrels............they are half as much again as AA fields (and other decent pellets)..................but, are they half as good.....NO!! AA fields are tried and tested..........they are a popular pellet and will do everthing you need. there will always be conflict over whats the best pellet...........personal choice, the guns preference etc. all the best sean Quote Link to post
Sigmund Fraud 0
Thanks for the replies guys. When I was looking at it originally I was thinking of how it would actually behave. I can see them performing quite well in artificial conditions at fairly short range; but as soon as you take them outside they're going to start going ridiculously wide. Less weight, more surface area, they're going to get buffeted a lot. Sure enough, all the reviews say they're fantastic close up, but going incredibly wide at long ranges. Quote Link to post

ChrisJones 7,975
I agree with the above. I've not found any results that are better than any of the lead pellets. The plastic coated pellets increased my gun maintenance dramatically as I was getting slivers of plastic in the rifle. I'll stick to lead until something better can be found. Quote Link to post
michael flatters 2
I put some in my Rapid mk1 and you would struggle to hit a door at 30 yards!!! Quote Link to post
Guest bigredbusa
i used them about 10 years ago and they had exactly the same problem , jamming and leaving plastic behind . im very surprised they are still being sold Quote Link to post
andy s410c 61
I tried them in the early 90,s, expensive, inaccurate & just look pretty in their box Can,t imagine them being any different performance wise but ££ bet they,ve went up a bit Quote Link to post
Sigmund Fraud 0
I think they do all metal ones now, Dynamic I think they're called. They're supposed to be an improvement on the original ones. Quote Link to post

Coney 3
Over rated & overpriced you are better off with a tin of H&N Field Target... well in my opinion of course. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I think it has all been said....and if you are in any doubt, re-mortgage your house, buy a tin (plastic box) and find out for yourself what a waste of space these pellets are!! Quote Link to post
