k9delboy 138
A BIG WELL DONE TO THE LADS FROM FIFE AND KINROSS YESTERDAY FOR ORGANISING ONCE AGAIN ONE OF THE BIGGEST AND BEST TERRIER SHOWS IN SCOTLAND. I THINK EVERYONE THAT ATTENDED WILL WHOLE HEARTEDELY AGREE THAT THE SHOW WAS RUN IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND THE BEST DOG WON OUTRIGHT ON THE DAY. THEIR WERE SOME CRACKIN TERRIERS IN THE RING. THE PRIZES WERE FIRST CLASS AS USUAL, DELBOY. P.S. MAYBE A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE FRENCH HUNTING HORN GUYS TOO.

youngy01 1
I was at the show last week. I can say, this was the first time I was at the show and I was dissapionted. I was stung by Country refreshments, when asked why it was so dear. I was told it was the organisors who set the prices. On the Dog front. I couldn't help but notice a lot of Lurchers there. Myself and my Son had two of ours with us. Wouldn't it be great if you could have organised something for them. It seemed one man and his Dog, along with his plastic sheep and the silly terrier race took president over all. The Gun dogs were good though. Seemed to me that Lurchers were being discriminated against. Sounds like sour grapes. "well it is". Can you explain. My good earned cash was taken, so I think I am entitled to a good answer. So are the other people who had Lurchers with them. Thanks for a smashing day out for the Toffs. Youngy Edited July 12, 2008 by youngy01

Foxgun Tom 75
If it was my comment of "sour grapes" you used please dont take it out of context as I was referring to something else previously in this post,!! I for one 100% agree with you!! the Scottish Game fair and its enterance fee, price of burgers/food and beer tent were a rip off and I was there working on a stand!!! The fact that lurchers are not welcome has always pissed me off personally as it does at the Dumfries and Galloway show where there also not welcome, I'm organising the working dog events at the SACs Gamefair August 2009 at Edinburgh! All working dogs will be welcome at this show , Lurchers Terriers and Gundogs as well as whippets hopefully will all be there in good numbers. I'm also working hard to make sure the cost is well within the ordinary guys budget, and that its independant of the main game fair, Tom I was at the show last week.I can say, this was the first time I was at the show and I was dissapionted. My intention of "sour grapes" was just for the food and the lack of Lurchers. I will be looking forward to the Edinburgh fair as you mentioned. I was thinking this morning of Organising one in West Lothian, possibly in Bathgate as there is Parking and ground facilities. This would be along way off, as I would need to contact Clubs and seek out sponsors. Ideas would be appreciated. There is a large following of Hunting and such like in and around West Lothian and I would like to see something of its kind here. So I appolagise if my comment sounded if I was having a pop at individuals. It was just my first year at Scone and going by some fairs I've been to in the past, Like Cupar Angus. I felt it was more geared for the well off. Regards, Youngy Edited July 13, 2008 by youngy01

scottyuknl 0
I've known the guys at the Fife & Kinross for a number of years now and in my opinion they go all out to emphasise fairness and a degree of integrity at their show's that would be difficult to match anywhere!! to suggest a fix at a show they run is just plain wrong , I'll be back at Scone this year again Colm The Weegie!! will have something for your raffle as always Tom Having judged the fife and Kinross terrier show in 1999 yes a long time ago and knowing the guys that run the show there is defanetly no cheating involved the were good shows then and i am in total agreement with you they are good guys Scotty Edited October 2, 2008 by scottyuknl
