m.hubbard 1
hey all iv just bin pondering if i rubed my stcok down (theres a joke to be had there .lol) and sprayed it in a camo style .would if afect the value of it if i tryed to sell it on? Quote Link to post
wife 1
what stock is it mate?if it was beech i would leave it as it was,i seen a few lads who have come out with me who have done there own stocks, looked the part and looked professional,i seen a few as well that have had them rubbed down, tried varnish or a different colour and made a bit of a mess on it,if its just for your own choice and fancy a change to camo then give it a go,if it a good job you do then i see no reason why it would affect the price if you ever went to sell it on,if you can get a photo of the gun up and stock before and after you do change the stock appearence, then we can all give you our honest opinions if it looks a good job and looks ok Quote Link to post

wife 1
if they are just dents try putting a wet rag over the dent, then hold a hot iron on the dent,it makes the dent swell out to its natural size,if its a deep scratch oooo wire wool, rub like mad, then apply several coats of teak or danish oil, that should do the job Quote Link to post
Coney 3
Depends on what type of job you do on it??.......if its a good job could lead to £££££££s but all it takes is one mistake and its fecked and believe me I've see many a good stock ruined through DIY attempts, there are some lads on here who have done their guns both professionally and DIY so if you want have a look back at the posts as it might give you some good ideas/hints before you make a start. Good luck Coney. Quote Link to post

4platoon 0
what you got there needs stripping down with nitro morse stripper with wire wool, then give it a good wash with hydrogen peroxide(weak bleach) then sand with very fine paper,i.e 1200 grit, then its up to you if you want to stain or go for the natural look.natural look is just oil,but lots of coats of teak oil,and stain is personal choice of whatever colour you want to go,recommend anything by fiddes,at least 3 coats of stain, the more you put on the shinier it will get, unless you leave it a few weeks between coats, another good coating is a product called diamond glaze, its a satin finish, very hard wearing, can only get that from a good paint suppliers Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
This is my version, its pretty basic but does the job. Done with car spray paint and a stencil cut out of a plastic milk bottle. its been on for about 3 years and is getting a bit scratched so i will probably redo it this year. Quote Link to post
