bullmastiff 615
Most of it's bluff from them but if they feel it's worth their time then they'll ask the Police to get a Warrant issued to enter and search your premises. Warrants are specific to each case (no such thing as a general warrant issued for any old copper to search your house top to toe). It will list the Police officers and civilians (RSPCA, vet, etc) that are being allowed to enter your property, the parts of the house they can search/look at, in your case the dog kennels (no use them searching the loft being nosey looking for a dog kennel! If a copper knocks at your door issuing a warrant then in most cases (certainly yours!) you have the right to make them stand on the door step whilst you READ IT THOROUGHLY if it states PC Bloggs may view/enter your kennels to check on the welfare of the dogs inside then kindly ask to see PC Blogg's ID then invite him and him only round the back of the house to view your kennels whilst asking anyone else there to kindly leave your property. If they refuse to leave then remove them from your property with reasonable force (Bugger it, get PC Blogg's to help you, as their breaking the law by trespassing!!!) Most coppers are decent enough chaps and won't try and muck you about, but some will and certainly most RSPCA staff will! stating they have the right to bring a 'knowledgeable person/expert' onto the premises to help check the dogs condition. Unless it states it on the warrant then they don't. Unless it specifically states the RSPCA member's name (check ID) then don't let them in. Sorry to go on so much but it Really pi**es me off when the arsepca after 6 weeks of training try and throw their weight about when they kill more animals than all of their cruelty cases and the test labs put together. Their worse than a fat superstore security guard! Anyway hope some of this helps Luke. Quote Link to post
