Guest fell terrier
have a look a beging of thread at leverlers set up, suposed to be as good but cheaper ,we all waiting for levs to test it properly i have had a b+f since they came out and never once has it let me down i have used it more or less everyweek and found that once you get use to it it is spot on as for price what price would any of you put on one of your terriers a good dog is priceless so i think it is only fair to your dog to use the best im mean you feed them the best and house them as good as is possible so why scrimp on the locator all my mates use the b+f and every one loves them im not sure on the ortovox system the colour looks poor and the trasmiter looks to big plus on of switch is accessable to teeth my b+f collar is covered in teeth marks including the casing if the switch was on the outside i would of thought it would of been turned of at least once i will be interested to see how any one gets on with them keep us all posted good luck and good digging Quote Link to post

Guest fell terrier
the ortovox trasmiter is smaller that the B&F fair play must of been a small dog in the photo what about the on off switch still sounds a bit dodgy Quote Link to post
Guest SHOT
as for price what price would any of you put on one of your terriers a good dog is priceless so i think it is only fair to your dog to use the best im mean you feed them the best and house them as good as is possible so why scrimp on the What silly biased slobber,im sick of hearing that what price do you put on your dog crap! I have the pieps box but because it wasnt from B&F im some kind of c**t others are using the mammut pulse which is more expensive but said to be better by the lads that have used all!but there c**ts aswell . you get on the skiing forums mate you wont find one skier asking another what price do you put on your wifes life just because he chose to use a pieps instead of a pulse, why because they all know these avalanche beacons regardless of brand have been thoroughly tested and reviewed by every ski mag/organisation you can find to save "human life" long before terrier men had got there hands on them. this terrier sections full of bummers! erik 71
the ortovox trasmiter is smaller that the B&F fair play must of been a small dog in the photo what about the on off switch still sounds a bit dodgy of cores i had the same idea when i get the first one in me hand but i never find someone who had that problem and a good friend of mine use a ortovox for the last 20 years on the deep badger dens in germany and never had troubles w/ the on/off switch ((and his transmitter had byte marks all over)) btw i do not trust that magnetic on off switch of the B&F ,, dont ask me why but that is really a thing i do not trust Edited July 28, 2008 by erik Quote Link to post

Guest SHOT
does anyone think theres enough room in the market for a new locator collar? Quote Link to post
jessdale 416
does anyone think theres enough room in the market for a new locator collar? I would like to think so.The more companies that bring equipment out the better for us.The market is now smaller than years ago,due to people packing in due to certain restrictions, but a market still exists for the companies that produce these items. If we can get top notch equipment from one cheaper than the other than we will all be happy. Lets face it these new "avalanche" type detectors are not cheap but should the retailers "up" their prices because "terrier men can`t put a price on their terriers?", where do you draw the line? .I know My kids would be safer on the school run in the back of a new range rover but i cant afford one!! .Hats off to the guys that are trying out this new equipment from the continent Quote Link to post
