Waz 4,266
what did you use to remove the soil as i dont see any steps or ledges As soon as I was getting a faceful of spoil coming back down, bucket on rope. DogFox, it was the b&f collar, some friends are having good success with the ortovox also, but ive not used it yet myself. Re battery time, on the locater boxes,,, Ive left the pieps box on in the van (transmit mode) for over a week a few times, no problems plenty of % left. Ive left the collar on for 3-4 days (b&f) still working. Quote Link to post

Guest SHOT
levs did you know the tracker only has enough battery power to locate for an hour ,so its 50 hours search mode dog fox i,ll be ordering a couple of transmitter collars from these soon there the uk agents for ortovox they dont stock it so still have to order them from germany i dont know if there cheaper anywhere else.. Dave Noble’s Tel: 01509 881111. They will order it from Germany and have it shipped direct to you. The cost of the Transmitter alone is £73 each and if you did want the Collar it’s an extra £7 each. There would also be a carriage charge of £15. Quote Link to post

hue jeers 6
Out today trialling my Ortovox , German thingy locator. No probs at all. Nice size and easy change battery and on off switch. The gear is all the same frequency, so if you buy Ortovox, Barryvox or Pieps it doesn't matter. They all have the same warranty, they all do the same job and it's how you get on with them that matters. The way you attach the Ortovox locator to your collar is the only stumbling block for those of us with no imagination. Like I said, tested today in a big spot and found the terrier easily. Cost versus a B&F set, for my stuff about £50. Quote Link to post
