i have just bought a NV monocular(spelling) off evil bay, but been told that i will have difficulties fitting it to my scope as the lens is too big?, so i reckon i will just use this as a spotting scope.

RICHIE off this sight has suggested for me to get a merlin cobra which i might try and get my girl friend to buy me on my birthday next month.

i know absolutely nothing about night vision, and would like any suggetsions whether the merlin is a good set up to use with my day scope and does it come with a IR illuminater, and if it does, is it good enough or will i need to get a bigger one?

and am i right in thinking i will not need to re zero my day scope?

and will it be sutible for shooting up to 40 yards, but probably mostly used between 20-30 yards?

sorry for all the questions but i just not sure what the best option will be?

and i dont think i could afford a NV Weapon Scope at the moment, so this would not be an option.

thanks in advance

Mark, I have the same unit and can recommend it. Mine is a 90mw laser and I swap it between my rapid 7 and my mates .22 rimmy regularly, without the need to rezero. The only downside I have is that the unit does sit a bit far back, but you soon get use to it

Infra red is fine for short distances. The unit has a built in illuminator which may be ok for the distances you will be shooting. If not you can buy an illuminator which bolts onto the unit.

Correct, just fit the unit onto your scope

An infra red illuminator (cheaper than a laser) should be fine at that distance

Give Geoffrey a bell at nightvisionsupplies, he'll give you all the answers you'll need :good:
