john b 38
Nice going Richie - that looks a really tidy job. Very solid and very clean lines. Is that an access slot in the roof ? or a baiting access ? Is the frame construction the same as we did on the larsen ? The joints look the same - uprights set into the rails. Quote Link to post
richie 1
hi john... yes, the construction is based on the same idea as the larsen, makes it a stronger structure. as for the slot on the roof, i can just about squeeze my arm through it to get to the bait tray & if need be, ican reach around the whole trap. just thought it would be a good idea to put it there. i can always put a piece of mesh to cover it if i make no use of it. rich Quote Link to post

donky7 9
ahhhh i see the bait.. just asked about what bait, in the vid post... i'm not knocking a great result. but....... would a natural floor be better that mesh...??? and from a townie... how do you remove your catch...???? do you shoot, or do you grab n flap....????? thanks. donky7 9
a place that keeps me sane................ placed in situ, a KG cage to see what occurs, trap in the unset position out in the open where many woodies seem to be every time i venture there. i'll keep the pics comin as soon as. Rolfe 2
A really well made trap that............looks the business. I prefer the much shorter height design.........it is so much easier to remove the trapped birds and i can stack a few in the van as they take up so little room. Quote Link to post

120-2 8
Nice one, I wonder if a funnel would work as well. 120-2 Quote Link to post
richie 1
Nice one, I wonder if a funnel would work as well. 120-2 do you mean to help guide it in ? when i recorded this footage for test purposes only, i was only 4 metres away from the trap laying next to my mrs sunbathing on the lawn. he walked round a few times & thought about going in, wasnt to sure at first but his belly got the better of him. john b 38
No Richie I think he means a 'funnel trap' like the one Holdaway made for magpies. Same sort of idea but the door is a open ended wire cone set into the trap side Quote Link to post
woodga 170
you were just waiting untill that pigeon was fat enough then you pounced good footage as you say greed got the better of him Quote Link to post
