Hob&Jill 258
I have just got the oppertunity of getting payed for ferreting and other methods at a small estate near to me For those who have done payed work before, How much different do you go about it from normal? what sort of prices would be fair and how do you work it out, per Rabbit?per hour? or what? Just looking for general advice about it really as I am quite nervous lol, HJ Quote Link to post
Corky(amateur) 0
well mate, i've nevr done it but i would charge per hour, because if your with a 50 holer and your waiting an hour before you realise, there was only one rabbit in there, then it would still be worth your while! Your kudos will go up and there could be more opportunities for further jobs with more permission and pay! Good luck, cheers. D. Quote Link to post

The one 8,485
Think you will need to quote a total figure but it depends what your doing and using .The last two weekend ive been out with Bobo (fred carter) had 55 and 52 rabbits lamping but no getting finished till 4am i feel we should be charging unsocial hours for that .But doing snaring once youv'e got them down its only a 5 minute job checking them till you need to lift them again and thats done in the daylight . So if your going to ask for coin your going to have to state what methord your using and have insurance and maybe do a risk assement Quote Link to post

Hob&Jill 258
I do all my ferreting for free and would happily do this for free but if they are offering then who am I to say no lol Thanks for the advice, HJ Quote Link to post
porkypowell 2
I am only guessing but in your situation if its only a bit of pocket money £1.00per carcass would seem fair to me. If you were thinking about doing it professionally I would be looking at £100-150 per day that would be in the Hereford area but the customer will expect to see you at the end of the day loading up a trailer with dead rabbits. I would keep it casual and on a part time basis for a while Best of luck with your venture Simon Edited June 8, 2008 by porkypowell Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
because if your with a 50 holer and your waiting an hour before you realise, there was only one rabbit in there, then it would still be worth your while! not wanting to be rude but if thats the case your not qualified with enough experiance to do it for payment, sorry Quote Link to post
The one 8,485
Thats the thing theres that many folk offering to do it for free youve got to be seen to be doing a good job ,which is fine if you have a good farmer and there no on the phone to you everytime they see a young rabbit running about .But good luck Quote Link to post
