First rat

Recommended Posts

I've not had an air rifle since I was a teenager but got one as a christmas present. I've also applied for my shotgun licence as i've got some shooting permission. Took the dogs on the land today and all I saw was a solitary rabbit so decided to try and bait some rats that are living in old straw. Met up with Wheres Wally from this site and waited. Didn't have long to wait before a rat appeared and my first shot with my new gun resulted in a dead rat. I also have permission for crows, pigeons etc and wondered what the best pellet is?

:good: well done mate i use to like using pointed pellets in my air rifle as i found they penetratedbetter than the round heads , they were rws pellets ,i also found they grouped real well in my daystate rifle ,well thats my experience anyhow i suspect other members will have their wn favourite pellets ,but the important thing i would say is find one which shoots straight in your and if your happy with it stick to it, :good: happy hunting
