mackem 26,780
Easy mistake to make, moonlight illuminates a patch of grass, fish fighting upstream mistakes the shine for a salmon-leap......SPLOOOSSHHHHHHH,out it comes, either that or you found some suicidal salmon, either way......WELL DONE Quote Link to post
mackem 26,780
It was yet another funny and brilliant night. The badger was so funny, i could of sworn it was a spaniel at first the way it was running around sniffing the ground. Still kicking myself about the biggun, had we have been seconds faster in bringing him in we would have got it :wallbash: . Look forward to our next adventure Joe I was gutted about the biggie mate,as soon as I saw him I thought F*******ck Just goes to show, never count your chickens, even if they are chavs The badger made my night mate,he just didnt give a toss, hope we bump into him again,I will take his pic As for adventures, its like the Indiana Jones saga, theres always another episode just around the corner Its in "Trout&Salmon" mag LK,check in the classifieds Edited June 4, 2008 by mackem Quote Link to post

mackem 26,780
I never had much success tickling trout mate,I always had more effective quicker ways of getting them, there are other methods VERY suitable, the only problem is they are TOO effective, and should only be used if you have a grudge against a chalkstream owner or similar as they appear to totally clear a stretch of water But its good to hear you released those fish, good man,we let ours go last night as well,catch-and-release,its the way forward mate Saint Apostles would be proud of you Quote Link to post

mackem 26,780
JACK-PIKE The old man of the withens himself They even named a fish after him JOE They say his feet never once got dry, from cradle to grave Does that explain the syndactyly that runs in your family? Quote Link to post
mackem 26,780
Ok JOE,sit down mate, right, take your shoes and socks off There see those webs between your toes?Us normal folk dont have them, and I certainly CANT hold my breath underwater for 30 minutes mate Most of us have pet budgies, not Bitterns I think you may have inherited more from old Jack-Pike than just the family name matey Quote Link to post
mackem 26,780
If you inherit the bad traits its in-breeding,if you inherit the good traits its line-breeding,I would class the ability to swim at 50 miles an hour as a good trait myself Besides, you like to take baths Most of us avoid them like the plague Quote Link to post

kreet 0
my girl has webbed toes scary looking thing she is sometimes hahah. whats the more effective way of emptying the streem then mackem its more like a muddy small river raher than a chalk streem but a good few fish in it and are the fish still edible once there out the water lol always remember my dad n that talking about putting chemicles n that in the water but i wouldnt wanna kill all those fish without being able to eat them lol. its not looking good for me getting out tonight now forgot that the only place to get maggots near me is closed on a wed so im in a cracking mood lol gonna have to leave it till tomorrow was up looking at the water tonight againe few boats were out but wernt many fish on the surface and didnt see anyone catching . when i was up last night with the dogs the lorry was there stocking it so hopefully they will have settled in bye the time my rod hits the water . mackem 26,780
Your daughters got webbed feet as well Kreet?Looks like old Jack Pikes milt flowed in scottish waters as well, come to think of it JOE must have scottish blood, his face is a sort of wierd realtree-tartan I am not going to tell anyone how to empty a chalk-stream kreet, some things are best NOT divulged The fish are all perfectly edible though, however, the method is just a little bit TOO effective Anyway,we are going brown-trout fishing soon,dry-fly only, just waiting for a hatch of some small insect types whose name is only pronounceable by an entemologist then its off we go,Tight lines Kreet Quote Link to post
