jultaylor1972 2
I spent the morning on my permission and got a few more for the ferrets. I used my ratcatcher at close range and it proved to be quite a good little rifle, I wouldnt like to try and shoot rabbits at 35 yards mind [smiley=hmm.gif]as Im not sure if it would be as powerful? Here is my pic when I got home. Quote Link to post

Im talking up to 20 yards, its very accurate at close range and seems to be powerful enough to dispatch rabbits. I dont know if they are making them less powerful now? It really depends on your permission I suppose? Ive got great permission where I can sit in the motor and wait til they are within shooting range. Ive also got a BSA XL Lightening which I use up to 35 yards and its brilliant! Thats my favorite if the truth be known This was on sunday morning. But my little ratcatcher has its uses as seen this morning! Quote Link to post

Malt 379
those ratcatchers only push out about 8ft lbs thats pretty good shooting with a garden can shooter..... Here we go again. People only slag the ratcatcher off, because they've either heard it's crap, or they've bought one and expected too much from it. It's only meant for close range pest control, and it's extremely effective if you stick to using it for that purpose. How much power is left on a .22 pellet after 35-40 yards, after being fired from a 12 ft/lbs air rifle? I don't know, but I'd bet there's not much difference to a .22 fired from a ratcatcher at 15-20 yards. Try clearing ferals out of barns on the lamp for a night with one & I'd bet you'd change your tune. Nice one Jules! Quote Link to post
