I am not sure what types of vegetation dogs could be allergic to in Britain, but here in my area of the USA it could be allergies toward several types of mold (fungus) or toward poison ivy.

Give the dog an antihistamine (Benadryl) and see if it gets less. Meanwhile also place the dog in a tub with water with 1-2 tblsp of bleach or 1 tblsp of Biotex and rinse the feet after each walk. Rinse with water afterwards and dry off.

If all this does not clear up the 'growths' in 3-4 days, it is likely something else.

PS Avoid wooded areas for a while and stay on paved streets or sidewalks. Once the 'growths' are gone (=skin is intact), the dog can go back to the 'infected' areas, but still repeat the rinsing with bleach after each walk.

Could be a fungal infection, which are a real difficult thing to get rid of.The animal could be on medication for a good couple of months. I'd get it checked out mate to be on the safe side.

um....I could be making a complete twit of myself here.....I've never seen anything like that on a dog, but it sounds remarkably like sarcoids you might get on a horse...... ...cringing, waiting for someone to say I'm mental...

sarcoids grow and look like that. They repeatedly come back after lancing/removing and can be very bloody. Some people say they are hereditry, others say they are catching.....that generally depends on whose horse has got them!

OK....waiting for the crushing comments...but thought I would mention it.....
