Guest olofthegr8 Posted June 2, 2008 Report Share Posted June 2, 2008 hi to anyone reading this, my ferret has just had a litter of kits i can see one dead in the door way. lots of people have told me not to go in the cage as she might eat the kits. so do i wait a while or just get the dead kit out as soon as possible. i can hear alot of squeeking noises and churping from the bedding from the cage so there are a few alive in there. It all depends on how the jill is with you. If she is okay and settled with them then it is fine for you to go in. If not leave be for a couple of weeks and just feed and water her. Min ealways get a bit pissy if I try to clean the shit corner! Quote Link to post
stubby 175 Posted June 2, 2008 Report Share Posted June 2, 2008 if there is a dead one, then even a first time mum, will keep the nest clean, from a ferts point of view, if its dead, why waste good food, me personnaly, Id leave her to settle down for a couple of days before taking a proper look, if theres a dead one still in the nest at that time, then remove it yourself Quote Link to post
