my lab will chase and catch rabbits but she would rarther mouther them when she has them in her mouth lol :icon_redface::icon_redface:

Depends on what you want your lab for.I'm sure she'd love to catch bunnies,but haveing done so I think you'd have a hell of a job to make her steady around game again, either at the peg or at heal on a walk up.

Don't matter what people think about it, the main thing is that you enjoy your dog!! Good luck mate and happy huntin :victory:

HI, Labs can hunt and catch rabbits no problem, but they do need to be a racey type to catch any mount on the run, we used to have a choclate lab, who would catch rabbits like rattle, but most of these were taken off their seat, before they even got chance to run,

 

But if your only doing it for fun what the hell, it not going to spoil your enjoyment if a few get away.

I cant get any luck on lurchers section so thought i woul try where labs are loved. Can you use a labrador as a rabbiting dog? just to catch rabbits that stray from the nets?
this fella caught a hare the other day picked it right out of its seat ,i did nt get chance to have a shot :icon_eek: he belongs to my misses i keep running dogs and he think s he s one too :clapper:
