Guest Ditch_Shitter
By one of Pat's ponies. I noticed today, as I went past with the Dogs, that Donks was looking a bit 'weathered' up there in that open field with the ponies. See, feeding him his nightly bowl of feed in the shed here, I'd always have a close eye on him and used to comb him out regular. Probably a completely cissy thing to do with a rough arsed donkey. But I don't know any better than to take good care of my creatures. Seeing him tidy makes me feel better so I do it. So, I brought the Dogs home and got his comb and walked back up there. Noel Mc's took his two donkeys out now and there's just Donks with Pat's ponies. Pretty things they are. Light chestnut sort of colour. The female having a lighter mane. Well, they don't know me from adam so were having none of me. But as I combed Donks out, not a quick process and accumulating me a large jacket pocket full of dead hair, the little Gelding got more and more bold about checking me out. So, once I'd finished with Donks, I just sat down in the grass and skinned a fag up. Then I entered into one of my favourite rituals; That of letting an animal come to me First I was sitting perfectly still as he crept gradually closer. Then he'd start sniffing me and testing my breath. Niether Pat nor his girls being smokers, poor pony must've wondered WTF I was all about! I talked to him constantly and made no jerky movements and, after some time, he let me very gingerly put my finger on his nose. I like 'horses' noses. Weird things. And so on. And so he got to trust the odd clump on the grass a little bit more. Within the hour, he'd sussed out that my Leggins tasted good and needed licking. I soon figured this out. Onions. I'd not long prepared my dinner. Last thing I do is cut an onion up. Then I habitually wipe my hands down my Leggins. This pony had a Real taste for onion and settled to licking the crap out of my Leggins! That relaxed and distracted him and, before to long, I was chatting away to him. Planting kisses on his soft nose and generally scratching him and sniffing him. Smelt great! Lovely warm smell. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's a smell I've known before. I could quite as happily snuggle up to a pony as a Dog. Now, more than ever, I can't wait to finally get my own Cob. How nice it'll be to gain her trust too and just be able to nuzzle into all that warm, nice smelling fur. Just put my arm round a big neck and 'commune' with a big, gentle beast. Great ears on that pony too. So Small, compared to the great, raggy things on Donks. Furry inside. Quite mad. I said they were like Red Squirrels ears. Yeppers; I have quite a 'Thing' about animals ears! I like Dogs ears too. Especially little silky, leathery warm ones. Probably due to most of my Dogs having been 'Greyhound' types or Bull 'n Terriers. I like their ears. Pity really. One thing missing from that little sojourn was a good spliff. Is there really Anything nicer and more relaxing in the world than just to be alone with, getting to know and gain the trust of an animal, as ones self mellows out equelly with a f*cking good spliff? My idea of close to heaven anyway

BlueCoyote 0
jeez Ditch you sound like my mother, who was extraordinarily horse crazy in her youth. i have some old old pictures of her lying in the field with her horses just cuddling up to her, or nosing about. i also have some of her riding about with no saddle or bits. just her and the horse. she was quite a free spirit back then lol and oddly enough none of her horses liked her husband (my dad) i think they were both jealous of each other if she spent more time with him or the horse. i'd like to buy her a little pony some day so she can be like that again. i doubt she'd ride it ever because she's gotten fearful as she gets older... but something smallish, and gentle would be great to settle her down. she's a lot like a horse in attitude.. very nervous and spooks easily. funny as hell if you wake her up with a loud noise lol i like horses but not as much as my mom or sister. i'll keep my dogs, thank you
Guest dotty
interesting thing gaining a horses trust. i've just broken in the two black horses, and the one in the stable was fine, but the other one was a bloody nightmare, rodeo sessions everyday until either she was nakered or i came off. a friend came round when the horse had just arrived from the airport and was in a very bad mood and fed up after spending the last 14 hours in a plane and another 12 in a lorry, and bit my mate square on the face and he now has a scar for life. we then had to tranquilize here to have her shod and shave her main. she is fin now, but is a very clever horse with a big character and major mood swings. the chesnut horse has just arrived from argentina a few mouths ago and life is very exciting and scary. i've spent hours trying to gain her trust. she has turned out great but i've had a few little rodeo sessions on her this week when she get a bit excited, she is extremely fast. BlueCoyote 0
thats something thats always intrigued me.... shooting from a horses back lol i once knew some straaaannnggge guys from when i worked on the horse ranch. they trained horses and mules for that sorta thing. they were great with horses but just.... weird ducks. they had a horse brought to them that was owned by a man with paralyzed legs. he WAS a sportsman until a car accident. they trained his horse to do all kinds of things, lay down so he could mount it. shoot from its back. carry all manner of things, pick stuff up for him. if i hadnt seen it myself i wouldnt have believed it!
