Do pigeon traps work on Woodies ?

Recommended Posts

How does this trap work may i ask

It's a standard bobwire door trap - with a door in each of the wooden ends. What's missing in this picture is the top and the sides. The whole thing is built to be folded away. If you click on where it says 'Take Down Pigeon Trap' in the first topic theres a thread all about it.

But as an aside look at this - just when you think you've cleared the bloody magpies .......

i had woodys in my trap and lots of racers too;;

Dont you mean ferals, nice little fine if your caught killing racers

when you get a racer you ring the numb on the ring, 9 times out of ten they tell you to keep it. as ones it gone feral they dont wont it back... :thumbdown:

I find the quickest and safest way to despatch trapped pigeons is using hand held despatching pliers.

Take one pigeon out of trap one by one and despatch. Minimum stress and very humane.

You cannot guarantee a quick kill using an air weapon and you may just get a pellet in the eye if it riccochet's.

The specially designed pliers immediately kill the pigeon with little fuss. thumbs.gif

Old saying again " Right tool for the job".

Don't forget that if a buzy body see's you on a roof with a air rifle or pistol, they may mistake you for a sniper !!!
