jonboy 0
I have a defender 110 300 tdi 1995. Over the years i have topped up the tank with veg oil when i have been skint. I now wish to fill the tank with 1/2 mineral and 1/2 veg oil on a weekly basis what points should I be aware of ?
Simoman 110
The best option is to get a conversion kit, about £550 mor £1,100 fitted. You start on diesel and after two minutes switch to oil. The 22lt diesel tank goes in the boot and the exisiting tank is used for oil. I'm looking at getting the kit soon after I can find a supplier of oil.............. DaveK 0
I run my 1995 defender 300tdi 110 on a 50/50 mix veg oil from Makro and diesel. No probs at all except the need to change fuel filter more often. An older landy is robust enough to handle it. Dunno about TD5's and the like though. The other problem is that every time you stop you get a queue of kids after a bag of chips. :tongue4:
Roz31573 0
you can run the 300 tdi on veg oil with no modification. though you will need to service your engine approx every 3000 miles, and with the price the cheapest outlets are charging for veg oil now it's almost not worthwhile
