damashaman 1
Makes me smile, some of the fuss made at country shows. The ultimate paradox, rosette hunters spitting out dummies when there "Working dog" does not get picked. I even know people now who are breeding "working" dogs to "look" right in the ring, god how pathetic!! If showing is there main priority, why don't they get a pedigree dog and go to show dog shows? damashaman 1
yes, a bit like pure greyhounds entering lurcher racing. I don't mind the shows but too many people get Manchester United about it! Quote Link to post

I personally love the look of my dogs but not sure a judge will! Quote Link to post

More gear for the rest of us to digspot on have not been to a show for a couple of years never take the dogs just go along for a day out and take every thing you see or hear with a pinch of salt fair shout fellas, ive got my terriers for diggin and abit of flushing, and i do give a shit, im on about border terriers now, when you work your dogs and breed from dogs that are dug to many times, and are trying to keep the working instinct in the breed, it can get you down abit when old mister and missis lard arse with her or his show dog win the class, the more classis they win the more pollution, and by that i mean unworked untried dogs being bred, read the edrd mag, 2 articals by jo, hendley, letters page, and trapped by the show craze by suffolk bill, says it all really, Quote Link to post
damashaman 1
Summer shows nothing more than a bit of light hearted fun, or so it should be. The other stuff is more important, I would not ever breed from a looker over a true worker, many do. And if he/she is a looker and a worker, then all the better. The best of both worlds then. Some shows in Wales the judges will give rosettes to a smashed dog over one that is not. Not shure about this?? Quote Link to post
