greggy 18
had a good do the other day.we were out for a day on wood1 off heres permission as the farmer was suffering losses of lambs(and of course gamebirds)anyway we got there early to check the first spot with my dog, this was a sprawling earth consisting of about 11 holes but not that deep.the collar was checked and he was in and on in no time,we let him settle and broke through at 0.9 with him well in controll of a nice dog fox,the vermin was despathed and we backfilled and moved on.This time we were to check a 2 holer on a banking with woodys promising young dog oscar, collar checked he was allowed into the darkness to find his vocation.after meeting his quarry we let him settle for 20 mins at a reading of 1.4 and began to drop a hole, the digging was a little tougher than the sandy one we,d just dealt with but with the grafter we were through in a short time to find young oscars tail wagging away while he kept 2 in the pot,the quarry dispatched we tidyd up and moved on. Next was an earth right under an old tree one of the holes was actually in the trunk.taff was tryd again and sang as soon as he entered we let him settle and began to dig the 0.8 the bellman was showing and we hit the roots straight away, these were as fat as you leg and to break into the tube we had to move 3 foot back and tunnel under a little, anyway we pulled taff out to expose his angry apponant and end his lamb killing days for good.no deep major digs but a productive bit of pest controll and a happy farmer.ill try and put up some pics but cant promise anything.all the best.lee. Woodys oscar. Quote Link to post
