Hi all,

will probably spark up a huge debate that has no doubt already occured so short answer and explanation would be great. the thing is, i went shooting(dusk) the other day and shot 3 rabbits. all the pellets hit at around 25 yards, with round head pellets(bordering over the 12f/lb mark) and two just ran off. the other actually did a back flip, and landed on its back!!!!!! 2 seconds later, it got up????!!!?!?!? wghat the hell is going on. obviosly i am aiming for head shots, the fact they ran meens i missed head but i am sure would have hit neck?! as i say i was using round heads? is it true that you get better penetration with pointed, because i have chrono'd round and pointed and i get better f/lb with round? what should i use?!?!

If you think it's a pellet problem then one way of avoiding purchasing lots of expensive tins to find they do not suit your gun is to buy the Pellpax multi-sample pack. They have a website. My AA S410 loves AA field 5.52's.

Incidentally does "(bordering over the 12f/lb mark)" mean you have a FAC for this shoot / gun?

regards

hi corky, try using a heavier pellet, that is if you have a fac rated rifle. if not> bring the power down to the legal limit, this should get rid of the power curve. legal limit is 12f/lb its not worth loosing your gun mate for an extra lb or 2.

yeah, i know... i do only use the light pellets for that matter and the f/lb has now come down to 11.89 due to leaving it cocked for 45 minutes

try aa field, .22 are 16g not sure on .177 but you cant go wrong with these. let me know your results if you try then.
