Shauny 0
Hi all. Which is best, case tumblers with media or ultrasonic cleaning? I know it's probably quite subjective, but at the end of the day all I want are clean cases to work with. There are a ton of sites out there with different opinions and techniques, but I would really like to hear about your individual case cleaning experiences. Straight from the horses mouth, as they say. Thanks, Shauny. Edited May 31, 2008 by Shauny Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
shauny, there is no need for ultrasonic cleaning in cases as far as i'm concerned, if you use treated corn curnels with some case cleaning fluid or a slight touch of brasso works great. Throw in the fifty cases and switch on the tumbler for around 5 to 6 hours i find leaves them like a new pin so to speak. i've been reloading for 12 years using this technique and have never noticed why i would have to change it. Shauny 0
Hi Snap Shot. What case tumbler do you use - are there any that are particuarly good or more of a concern any to avoid? Thanks Edited May 31, 2008 by Shauny Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
i use the lyman turbo twin tumbler, its got to bowels with it very silent compared to most built in thermo control in case of overheating, a great piece of kit. would highly recommend one. Quote Link to post

Well, I have now invested in the twin tumbler after looking into all the dizzying options (thanks for the advice ) One more quick question though - does it matter if you clean brass with the spent primer still in? If you decap it before, wouldn't this cause fouling in the dies which is why we are cleaning them anyway!!! Cheers, Shaun. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
i clean them with the spent primers in, for the simple reason that the primer pocket dosen't get Jamed with the corn curnels..........A little may lodge in from time time time................ Quote Link to post
