My young bitch keeps getting a wax build up in her ears, i clean them every other day to try and keep on top of it but with little luck, i was talking to a friend and his advice was to try olive oil, so i did... it worked well but never stopped the problem, it gets so bad that she is constantly shaking her head and trying to scrat at them, can some one help with any tips/advice?

Might be more than wax?? Ear mites are common, mine have had em. Also could be a fungal infection.

Thornit powder, about 7 quid off e-bay. (if its mites)

Many other liquids etc available

I would try one that is all purpose, I can find product the names if you want, My sisters a vet so i get my things off her.

Hope you get to the bottom of it

Cheers mate, i will look into it but don`t mites attack the "flop of the ear" rather than inside the cave?

It looks to me like a whole lot of wax that has built up and gone hard, when i used the olive oil it kind of melted it and when i swabbed it will cotton wool it was a shit load of wax....... i think!

Thanks for the advice anyway mate, and if you can get me any meds let me know the price

Ottomax, for any fungal infections. (may cover mites also, i will find out today)

Im not 100% but I belive mites will cause a build up of crap in the ear canal, as will fungus. But an experienced eye could tell the difference. It will be quite cheap to treat for both, then at least you can rule them out if it persists.

I can send you some ottomax, that I have used a bit of recently. (pm your address)
