Some lads just pick the dog up at the earth end and tether him, dispatch the stuff and that is that, dogs sometimes lose faith. I let them worry the dead carcase to show them they have won, and reward the dog with praise and a treat as well. They understand more than you think. Quote Link to post
Guest pip Posted May 31, 2008 Report Share Posted May 31, 2008 NOT SURE ABOUT THAT DAMASHAN I NEVER KILL QUARRY AND THE TERRIERS NEVER GET RAGS ON DEAD STUFF KILLED BY LURCHERS,AS YOU SAY MATE THEY ARE CLEVERER THAN WE THINK ,AND I THINK THIS ENCOURAGES THEM TO GET THE HEAD AROUND THE IDEA THAT THEIR SPORTS IN THE GROUND.SEEN DOGS GETTING TOO MUCH OR REGULAR ON TOP RAGS AND THEY STARTED APPEARING AT THE MOUTH WHEN THEY HEAR COMMOTION OF THE DIG AND DOGS SQUEELING OR BARKING THEY THINK THEY RE MISSING SOMETHING AND COME OUT FOR A LOOK.
