fellman 116
I THINK ,FROM MY EXPERIANCE,OF THE BANDF,THAT THE MORE YOU USE IT THE MORE ACCURATE YOU CAN BE THIS IS JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION .....YIS FELLMAN Quote Link to post
Guest Dillon
Cough up you whinging scroungers . Cough up or shut the F**K up . Because I for one have had it hearing your whining constantly regarding this subject...... Well f**k off and don't be reading the threads on this subject so I've seen no one whinge on here about the B&F. I for one have never said a word against the collar/box in operation for the simple reason that I'd never used one til yesterday: - One of the lads had Deben Mk1 which I gave him years ago - actually a ferret collar I used to have for years before that - he has it taped to a dog collar. First dig went fine - know the burrow well - 2' bang on with collar, sank bar straight in - pudding. - 2nd burrow was new to us and there was a lad I rarely dig with but he has the B&F - this was reading .3 at the lowest - so we just started digging straight - We were actually about a foot off! Ground was flat. He said it's not as accurate as the Deben when you're close?!?!? Surely the further you are away the greater the error will become? There was <1' of earth above the animal. I still plan on getting the B&F and will probably buy the full kit from them. Why is there such a premium on hunting gear?????? Videos, DVD's, Books etc. are savage prices. We were a foot off to one side not in depth. Personally i think you just need to use it more to get to know how to use it, i have had 17 digs off the B + F now and have never had a problem as such, the first couple of digs a bit shaky but what do you expect. The discussion could go on forever, we don't all use the same lamps, we don't all use the same guns and never will everybody agree. I had my first deepish dig to the B + F on my bitch Molly last sunday, the earth was at the bottom of a deep bank and with hindsight would never have entered the bitch, she was working her quarry 30ft to my left 30 to my right and seemed to be in a tube simply running left to right, we got a mark at 1.9 (just over 6ft), good few bangs on the ground - moved , a bit more running round the tubes and into the bank 5.3 (roughly 17.5 ft) now I was hoping and praying we wouldn't be attempting to dig this as it was going to be a full day of a job and it was already half past one, as we were clearing the bramble away to get a better mark the dog and its quarry moved again, the bitch then seemed to settle at a more reasonable 2.5, 2.7 - her quarry was digging on in front of her or so we presumed and it was digging into the bank. Before I hijack this post it was the dogs hardest dig to date and we ended up breaking through to the little green light 3hrs 24 mins later, she had been constantly mixing her quarry stopping it from digging into the bank, IF we had a Deben box on her it wouldn't have found her when she was deep in and I would have also broke my neck constantly searching the undergrowth. Pros and cons in everything you buy for this game, and so long as each man is happy with his lot then fair enough. I certainly won't be changing. Yis Dillon Quote Link to post
Guest Corkonian
I was the one doing the box so since it was my 1st with it I'll put it down to my fault  Just swiping the collor on with the battery is cool in fairness would be good to finish having to 'make up' the collar especially with those new Deben ones. pockets 0
That's a great advert for them - we can take it so that if anyone with their kit wants to buy a new collar they must get the receiver as well These people seem like a bunch of cowboys - doesn't inspire confidence. They give a price on their site for the collar seperate and do say that all parts are available seperately: we can take it that this is not true so. I said before get on to Trading Standards straight away: http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/ or try: http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ I've printed their website in case they change it if you need it for evidence. You'd have to wonder with this messing about are they going to honour warranties etc.??????????? They're obviously reading this forum so how about a statment from them? I rest my case Corkonian....... Of course your whinging and whining. No one said anything about you doing so regarding it's performance......But you needed to bring up trading standards because B&F would'nt sell a collar to someone who refused to buy a reciever from them .......How petty and childish is that??..... There is a premium price on hunting gear / equipment because it's a 'niche' market. In that sort of market place a monopoly forms with firms , because others don't see a profit margin forming as there is a small customer base to it .So as competition is small , premium prices are asked.......It's common sense , it's called the world we live in........Live with it.As I was always told , if you can't afford it you go without it......That's life. Very wise words cheif Quote Link to post
Guest Corkonian
Free trade, Capitalism etc. - THAT'S the World we live in. The likes of trading standards are there to make sure we don't get screwed by companies in monopoly positions. They were screwing Matulka or whatever by not letting him buy the collar seperately. Why the f**k should he 'live with it'???????? 'if you can't afford it you go without it......That's life.' - bollocks - that's one point of these thread - some can't afford it at B&F prices but since it's available cheaper elsewhere they might be able to? So there is plenty competition there. 'live with it' & 'That's life': no wonder hunting is f****d in england if that's the creed ye live by. seldom I get mad at the computer but GERONIMO your a f*****g beut alright. Write your 'comeback' on here and I'll reply by PM from then on - doubt everyone else want's to read this and hate to see it getting lost in the flame threads. Quote Link to post
