A lot will depend on the dogs breeding as to how much weight it will carry but your sapling sounds though it should'nt be to light. It can take a while for a dog to get used to new foods so bear with it. I'd pop along to the butchers and see if they have any wate bones/meat such as lamb ribs or necks and feed these raw a couple of times a week. The fat content will increase the total calorie intake. Once its used to raw food it may well take to chicken but, as above, many don't feed cooked chicken bones as there is a risk of problems. As with all things tinned food comes in variable qualities it may be an idea to think about a dried complete feed which will help to keep teeth cleaner than a soft diet. I'd look for a feed around 22-26% protein depending how muck work your dog will do.

When I got my lurcher and my young grey they wouldn't touch raw food.

I found that if I got a little bit of meat and warmed it slightly it made it more biddable for them.

Mine love chicken wings but if they've never had them then they might need to get used to what they are, maybe try them again once he'she gets used to eating the raw meat.

Edited to add: Cooked bones, especially chicken can splinter and cause problems and tears etc. I don't feed any cooked bones to my lot.
