Yokel Matt 918
I have a cz 452 Varmint 17" Barrel, SAK mod, Meopta 7x50 scope. Use eley subs which group & cycle very well (also leave barrel quite clean) HV option is Velocitor. Watch the HV stuff though... its mainly copper washed and can taint your barrel and rifling. floss_regularly 0
Hello All, As a new boy I've just briefly introduced myself on the new members section and thought I would submit my first post. After years of using an air rifle and occasionally a shotgun I have finally got round to sorting out an FAC and very recently purchased a CZ452 'Silhouette' 16" .22 LR, fitted with a Parker Hale moderator and Edgar Brothers 3-9x50 scope from Rakers in Northchapel, West Sussex. I have zeroed the rifle at 60 metres which seems to also be bang on at 25 metres with Winchester subs. I'm really pleased with the set up and the Winchester rounds seem fine and generally consistent, but I would be interested in hearing if anyone else is getting good results with Eley or CCI through their 452? The occasional flyer is no doubt down to my dodgey shooting! Thanks. Hi there, I have a CZ452 style (the tarty version of the silhouette!), also with a 16" barrel. I use Eley hollowpoint subsonics and always get a 2-inch group at 75 yards. Granted it's prone with a bipod, but you can't get more accurate than that. Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
Yes, you really can! I would expect that rifle to group an inch or so at that range, 5 shots. Quote Link to post
young1982 1
I'm I right in thinking that the Silhouette has a floating barrel. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I'm I right in thinking that the Silhouette has a floating barrel. Nope...nothing floating about the Silhouette, bolted firmly into a snug fitting stock! Edited June 13, 2008 by Deker Quote Link to post

Deker, Do you think it would make much difference if the barrel was floated? young1982 Nope.. it's only available in .22LR, just doesn't thump or bounce. The Silhouette stock/metalwork does not lend itself to floating either...you would have to throw away the design and start again! This gun is designed to a budget as a field tool, it performs this function remarkably well and remarkably accurately already, an excellent value for money tool! Quote Link to post
