shaddow 166
id definatley stick to good proven bloodlines , theres defo more chance of a good animal rather than buying in something from the unknown ....been down that road several times when i was a kid and always ended up disappointed so now nothing but the best of breeding for me ....not saying all the my dogs are world beaters or the pups i have will be but it definatley gives me more confidence in them Quote Link to post
Guest bobsuperdog
those that have seen them run say sniffer the belly bro to buddy is a better dog but has he produced anything bob ......theres alot off decent well bred stuff out there ...its what your prefrence ...and at the end off the day ...it a gamble what ever you use .... Exactly Snoop, because one brother is better than the other does not mean he will produce better pups. no your right there inam, but i think more people use buddy because of the kennels he is in,if nuttal had hancocks teweedle dee on hes yard yous would all use that, imho its a name game when it comes to breeding these dogs, What have you got Bob ?because you obviously haven't got the first idea of what your on about People have used Buddy because of his BREEDING....................... His sire and his sire's sire have consistently produced top class hare killers His dam is the LEGENDARY Foxy, 64 matches unbeaten, also bred out of generations of consistently top class hare killers, and believe me .......................the breeding shines through i got a dog out of p greavies susie charlie seagull x sniffer charlie foxy, i may not know much about the coursing dogs as i have only been in it for a few months, and to be honest its not for me full of bullshitters and back stabbing crabbers that talk more shit then then anything,my fen dog is now a lamping tool, and his breeding is second to none also the dog is at stud free to the genuine coursing lads Edited May 29, 2008 by bobsuperdog Quote Link to post
whin 463
breed of the best you can afford i would say as i have bred dogs for years and sell them or give them away to the [bANNED TEXT] owners and well thats how you get a good name i would rather give apup to a top class lad than sell it for money as when he does the job youll get your money in future breedings ,my mate has a good saluk cross or should i say great dogs in there prime , he gave me a free line to seee how he thru and he new half of the pups were going to good working homes and the pups are doing what they are bred for better than any pound note , when d slieght gave ne a pup out of m chapmans bob and his katie 35 quid 19 93 my pup luke bred to a top class greyhound produced lana then mhirn he knew that i would do a job on them, 3 gens down the line and they are still doing what they are bred for cant beat it better than money , to strangers even tho cash is nice, all my saluks lamp catch hares and whatever fills the freezer cant get a bettter advertisement ,but in the [bANNED TEXT] hands the would be daylite dogs , i stayed in suffolk coursed and caught many hares but no better than a nite at roe or bolting rabbs to dogs cheers Quote Link to post
Guest beddy whippet collie
well thanks for that maxhardcore . a blank response .............was there any point in quoting me and not bothering to type a word or 2 sorry mate i did write a response but feck knows what happened. imo mate yes you can get decent dogs from dubious breeding for all types of lurcher work. to stack the odds more in your favour id say its best buying pups from known blood for whatever task you want them for. this is especially so for daytime flushing if you want to control your said quarry in decent numbers say twice weekly throughout the winter months. goodluck thanks for the above maxhardcore , my last lurcher was from unknown breeding , a free adds purchase , he turned out to be a good allround dog . from what i've learned on this site though i think i'll go for a well bred pup Quote Link to post
