the buddy dog ...not the best pic iam affraid but iam looking for more .... :victory:

Decieving, he looks like he may have a fair turn of speed. Funny old game breeding hare dogs! its not always the best hare killers that produce the good progeny, although you would want both parents to be able to do the job.

Exactly Snoop, because one brother is better than the other does not mean he will produce better pups.

Buddy is a good producer , so is casper , hes produced some proper match stuff ...casper x a saluki bitch produced a really good litter that were surprisingly quick and one bitch sold for well over 10grand to a well known Arab sheik who is famous for race horses

both dogs are owned and bred by same lad

your write about a name game at times but like any other sport you have to get a good name first about your dogs not on some comp , ive had dogs my freind k simpsons has had good dogs but we keep it close and choose our pups wisely not in it for money just to get good dogs back at one time ,if you throw good pups and its not about money then you are a genuine type but alot of it is fools are easily parted with there money , alot of the computer hunters newbies like jumping on the band wagon useing peoples names etc to get praise if you run dogs for decades a name means nothing just a figure head , i would be more intrested in the guy who is the most genuine not a money taker ie 4 figure somes for a hare catcher , a hares a hare sawthousands geting caught and is a greta animal but people have to realise all over the world peoplechase hares etc so why the mystic meg thing about the saluk or names cheers

seems to me that there is a lot of talk about this name is that and that name is this ....... with all due respect to the people that have kept these bloodlines going ...... there is something that i find intruiging and that is this - what about the young up and coming hunter , where does he/she slot in with the great name brigade . because at the end of the day there are dogs out there that are more than capable of taking all game but there owners have kept themselves to themselves so if a young man/woman was to get there hands on such an animal , what is to say that they might well be whooping the arse off some top match dogs ????? but yet no big name .......so really it comes down to this .... do you really need a top/big name dog to be a successfull hunter ????

but we are not talking hunting , we are talking pre ban daytime coursing and now post ban flushing, so those who know would rather stick to tried and tested daytime bloodlines, yes their will be decent hare dogs around the country of unknown dubious blood but if you can use a stud or get hold of a pup from proven bloodlines , even better if from proven generations of hare stopping dogs imo.

i can see your point in the above statment , but at the same time i remain a little confused because a week or so ago i started a topic that was basicly asking if i should purchase a lurcher pup from well known bloodlines or not . and the response i got was mostly " a dog is what you make it not where it comes from " sorry in advance for my confusion but i want to be sure before i buy a pup :victory:

What have you got Bob ?because you obviously haven't got the first idea of what your on about

People have used Buddy because of his BREEDING....................... His sire and his sire's sire have consistently produced top class hare killers  His dam is the LEGENDARY Foxy, 64 matches unbeaten, also bred out of

generations of consistently top class hare killers, and believe me .......................the breeding shines through :clapper:

i think its important to rember that it costs the same money to raise a well breed pup as a street accident pup. as john davisis dog "street accident" proved you can get the odd surprise. you can buy a lot of good pups from between from between 2-500 pounds so why take a chance on the unknown? i recentlie used the brother of the taz dog bill. all the breedings there and the fella who owns him was a real gentleman to deal with. so i hope my litter gets him a good name as a stud dog.
