Rabbithunter 456
at the moment, im taking home £230 a week..... which, i suppose isnt bad money... But after everything is paid, left with nowt. I've been offered a new job...... council house re-furbs (electric) BASICALLY removing all the socket fronts, light switches, light fittings etc.. and replacing them for new ones, and replacing the consumer unit..... for full J.I.B electricians wage, which is 11.35 an hour at the moment. 42.5 hours a week which works out as 482 per week BEFORE TAX.. which i asssume will work out about 360-370 a week...... which, yes, is very bloody nice, but is 360-370 a week really enough? SNAP SHOT 194
Well said kay, if your living on 230 at the minute then you know whatever else you make, you can save or put to good use. So if a little extra graft is needed what odds don't your wages make up for this.

I do know that there is jobs, that will pay, as you say, £1000 a week, but when you have ties at home (ie; dogs and kids) it is extremely difficult to be able to work away for considerable periods of time... My point is :- is it a case of, the more you earn, the more you spend?
Guest ocs1867
I'm a plasterer and earn earn between £500 - £900 a week but when working in London my wage goes upto £30 per hour in the construction game it pays to travel from home.
Kay 3,709
Well i would be in no hurry to earn more than your bringing home now, with 2 kids you get family allowence & working & child tax credit , so take that into account, the more you earn the more they take off you , i packed a second job in to be rewarded with an extra 30 quid a week for doing less hours , why should i effectivly work an extra 10 hours a week for 20 quid
