iv been told by nearly every person with an allotment to get a goat or 2 to keep it the allotment down and tidy now im on THL and i got people telling me to do different and the goat will die when none of my mates have yet, ditch i wont just give up on the allotment because its got aload of overgrowth i dont give up that easily, the allotment will be used for a haveing a couple of chickens in and all that part where the chickens will be is sorted, BUT the shed for the chickens is only a quick nock up for a min till we can get a goat to clear out the parts with the overgrowth because theyre alot more level than where they are now, we asked DO YOU KNOW FOR ANY GOATS FOR SALE LOCALLY NOT HOW TO LOOK AFTER A GOAT :censored::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: feck sake we just want to buy a goat to keep the allotment down why do alot of people on here have a problem with it? i havent seen 1 topic on here yet without a silly comment or silly comments JUST A GOAT WERE LOOKING FOR AGAIN NOT HOW TO LOOK AFTER 1 IF [NO TEXT TALK] HAS FORGOT OR MISS READ :wallbash:

A mate of mine is a gardner, he's cleared out some well overgrown gardens, never seen him use a goat to do it though.

Look if you want a goat, get a bloody goat, but i just wondered why you cant just cut the growth back and keep it tidy?

Good luck with ya goat hunting? :good:

Me and lurhcerboi2008 off the site have just got ourselfs a new allotment and desperatly need a goat... we live in south wales and don't want to travell to far.. across the bridge etc.. we will pay £30 between us or nearest offer... or anything lower would be great..

Any help will be much appreciated.. please no nonsense comments...

thanks for all your help...

jo

come on be honest, you wanted a sheep really but that would be to obvious

for £30 mate you could hire a brush cutter, buy some decent weedkiller and get a nice pair of gloves to stop your hands getting dirty and still have enough for a bag of chips on the way home,

how bigs this allotment? you need 4sq m for the pen/shed for billy, then another 4 times that for exersize which is about 20sq m additional to your growing space cos ideally it should be a concrete, leave it tied to a post and the arse.p.c.a will be all over you when some miserable twat grasses you up. you then need a fresh water supply, a dry storage area for good quality hay and feed, then you need feed supplements on top of that. and all that should be sorted before you even think about getting a goat.

then you've got your ongoing vet bills, feed and supplements(which arn't cheap) plus you need a regular feeding routine twice a day every day.

not really thought this one through have you bro!? its a bit extreme just to move a bit of overgrowth, isnt clearing that half the fun of having an allotment?

im not being a know it all pal, i know feck all about goats but its amazing what you learn fom the internet, check this site, you can find absoloutly anything out google search engine

having owned several goats i would have to say that 2 goats will clear an acre of 6foot high brush in about a month, so presuming allotment is not this sort of size, what on earth will you do with it once its actually cleared the rea as it wont be happy to sit about until it regrows. get yourself a brush cutter on hire for a weekend!!!]
